Ok, so we've been given our closing date....April 21st. I am anxious for this day to arrive. Pins and needles. Talked to our loan agent about the program she got us in. A hybrid 5/1 ARM where the interest rate is higher than I expected. Our credit score is fair, but not good enough to get a lower rate. The monthly payment falls right on the maximum we can afford, but we don't want to do maximum. So I asked her to resubmit the loan for the pick-a-payment option program so we have the choice of paying the minimum (neg am) payment. She doesn't forsee any problems with us qualifying....but it still has to undergo the scrutiny of the dreaded underwriter next week. Pins and needles. Should hear something by end of next week.
In the meantime, I made 2 copies of the floor plan so I can start laying out furniture positions and landscaping. I've also started jotting down the color of each room and it's decor. For inspiration, I started watching HGTV to get decorating ideas. I hate to admit it, but I've become a HGTV junkie. I tune in every free time I have, especially the 2 hours before I go to bed. Lots of things I learned through this tv program. For example, have you ever heard of concrete coloring or stamping? Amazing things can be done on concrete nowadays when it comes to flooring and counter space! Matter of fact, I'm planning to use concrete as part of my patio floor landscape. Check out this website if you're curious about colored concrete and stamping.

So until I hear again from my loan agent, I will continue to write and draw on my floor plans and watch HGTV as if I already bought the house.
