Without technology....
I just read an article from Techrepublic http://techrepublic.com.com/5100-9592_11-6026539.html?tag=nl.e061 regarding a possible disruption to Blackberry. I don't know about you, but this is a concern for me and a lot of others who use the service. I won't say that I will be totally lost without it. I will, however, feel out of sync and not in the "real-time" world if the service goes down. Right now, email is easily accessible anywhere I go. Not to mention the ease of accessing the MLS for new and active listings in case of client emergencies. The small handheld device is certainly easier to carry around, and let's talk about the "fashionable" accessories you see nowadays. Ever notice people who have those earpieces with blinking blue lights permanently affixed to their ears? I swear it's become part of some people's daily outfits! I've attended seminars where earpieces do not come off and remain attached throughout the 5-6 hour class. Is it really necessary to wear it the whole time? Back to disruption of service. As a real estate agent, this service is one of the important tools of my trade. I rely on it as much as I rely on my laptop and car. Technology has made our lives easier and certainly made it a lot more convenient for us to do our work wherever we are (teleworking or telecommuting). We're not tied down to our work cubicles anymore, by gosh. I can talk to a client and give him all the information he needs without ever leaving my kitchen. Aaaahhh, I love technology.
